IN LUCK

For brides in search of a new spot to tie the knot, Buitengeluk might just be it. Based in Broadacres, Fourways, the recent addition of the stunning Green House provides not only a light and airy venue for a small wedding or a backdrop for the ceremony, but also a great location for photo opportunities. Using the fabulous gables that tower above the gardens at Buitengeluk as inspiration, this Cape Dutch shoot embraces the bold clean lines of the gables, the timelessness of the Delft blue and the softness of mixed blooms to showcase vintage with a difference. Tamyrin Lipjes from Bespoke Blooms shows how a botanical feel can be achieved through the use of hanging flowers (see the upside-down tulips above the table and the orchids in the corners). Depth of texture can be created by choosing a slightly wider colourway: instead of sticking just to the core blue and yellow theme, she’s brought in huge green hydrangeas and yellow/orange pincushion proteas to add visual interest. We love the simplicity of the bare wood floor and the chairs that contrast beautifully with the elaborate ironwork of the glass structure, the romantic oversized table linen and the vintage collection of china and silver. For those wanting to get the look, remember too that there’s always a place for beautiful stationery.
